OLD BUSINESS
Land Exchange/Community Property Project: Ruth L.
Carlson stated that there was not much new to report. The wheels of government are grinding
slowly. Ruth contacted Nancy Larson of
the USFS to see if there was anything the Township should be doing to
accelerate the land exchange.
Community Development
Update: There was no report.
Propane: Jim Janssen stated that property, a tank, a
truck and a licensed driver would be needed for the Township to provide propane
to community residents. It was decided to abandon the project because there
would be more liabilities than benefits.
CLWSD Dialogue: There was no meeting of the Committee to
report.
Community Celebration: All arrangements have been made; the tickets
are available for sale at Nelson’s, Voyagaire, and Handberg’s. There will be a final committee meeting on
August 25th. Ads will be in the Voyageur Sentinel, the Cook
News-Herald and on WEVE.
Culvert: Butch attended a meeting this afternoon with
Rob Scott representing the CLWSD and Chris Morris, St. Louis County Bridge
Engineer. They discussed the moving of the sewer main during construction of
the culvert. The expense to move the
sewer line is the responsibility of the utility and the CLWSD does not have the
funds. The County does want to complete
the project this fall. The County is
exploring the possibility of doing the work and billing the CLWSD. The concept of combining the planned walkways
on either side (safety and beautification) of the culvert and the culvert replacement
to request funding will be explored.
