BOARD OF SUPERVISORS’ MEETING

August 14, 2012

 

 

The August 14, 2012 Board of Supervisors’ Meeting was called to order by Chairman Jerry Pohlman at 8:05PM at the Crane Lake Chapel Fellowship Hall with the Pledge of Allegiance recited by those in attendance including: Supervisors Butch Eggen & Jerry Pohlman, Treasurer Terrie Hoff, Clerk Jo Ann Pohlman and one member of the community.  Supervisor Jim Janssen was absent.

 

 

BUSINESS

 

Additions to the Agenda: There were none.

 

Minutes – A motion was made by Butch, supported by Jerry, to approve the minutes of the 7/10/2012 Board of Supervisors’ Meeting.  All voted in favor and the motion carried.

 

Treasurer’s Report – Terrie read the July Cash Balances and presented the bills as follows:  Cook News Herald – $59.50; Jan Jackson – $4,200.00; Shirley Sanborn – $97.68; CLVTB – $10,404.36; and Payroll – $501.25. A motion was made by Jerry, supported by Butch, to approve the Treasurer’s Report as read and the payment of bills.  All voted in favor and the motion carried.

 

The Clerk presented the correspondence.  The correspondence was received as read and will be placed on file and acted upon as required.

 

 

OLD BUSINESS

 

Land Exchange/Community Property Project: Butch said there was nothing new to report.

 

CLWSD Report:  Rob Scott provided a written report to the Board.

  • The plant continued to operate within MPCA standards for the month of July.
  • The CLWSD continues to work financing for the Handberg Road Expansion project.  A meeting is being scheduled with USDA-RD at their St. Paul office the first week of September.
  • The CLWSD is looking at a dump station option.
  • The CLWSD continues to work through the JPB to obtain funds for the culvert work and CSAH 24 project.
  • The mediation meeting scheduled for August 15th was canceled.

 

Assessor Status Report:  MN Department of Revenue is currently reviewing the status of Jan’s work.  The report has moved from the commissioner’s office to another entity at Revenue and it is expected to be ‘a number of months’ before the report becomes public. There were no new reports received.

 

DNR Public Water Access Proposal: Terrie suggested posting the letter received from the DNR on the website and at the Post Office.

 

Jacque Eggen Memorial Fund:  There was nothing new to report.

 

High Speed Internet:  More information is still needed.

 

ATV Use on Roads:  There was no report.

 

 

NEW BUSINESS

Comments from Officers: Butch wished the Voyageur Days Committee success over Labor Day Weekend.

 

PUBLIC COMMENTS – Doug Marshall noted that with less people in the area it seemed fall was near.

 

 

Next Meeting:    Board of Supervisors’ Meeting, September 11, 2012 – 7:30PM – Fellowship Hall
